Pebble Hill Peppermint Camellia

In 2018, the Auburn-Opelika Men’s Camellia Club registered this plant with the American Camellia Society in honor of the Scott Yarbrough House, also known as Pebble Hill.

The plant was a “chance seedling” in the garden of Tom Corley, which means it germinated unexpectedly and had enough genetic uniqueness to warrant a registration.

Pebble Hill Peppermint stands in the shadow of its namesake, the 1847 cottage that has been the home of the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts and Humanities since 1985.
